This is a picture of my Grandfather parading up Wong Nai Chung Road before the second world war (center, on horseback). He was stationed here with the British Army for about two years.

My Grandmother gave me this picture. You can see Happy Valley Race Course in the background.

Temple of Bacchus, Baalbek, Lebanon

I took this in 2000. It was my on my first trip to Beirut and our hosts, The Daily Star newspaper, took us to Baalbek, the site of what was once Heliopolis (not to be confused with the other Heliopolis in Egypt).

The Temple of Bacchus is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It is one of the best preserved Roman buildings in the world.

A picture from the summer. I only had my little Panasonic with me so I put it on the wall and tried various timer combinations until I got this picture. You can tell how long the shutter was open by the fact that the stars are streaking in the sky.
